Is This Why Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt Really Got Divorced?

Despite the fact that they started dating in 2005, the couple did not get married until 2014. Just two years later, Jolie filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Pitt and Jolie each took sole blame for the demise of their high profile romance. In a 2017 tell-all interview with GQ, Pitt blamed the divorce on his alcoholism. “I mean I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family,” Pitt told GQ. “But even this last year, you know – things I wasn’t dealing with. I was boozing too much. It’s just become a problem.”

For nearly five years, the couple has been attempting to get a divorce. Just earlier this week, documents were leaked to The Blast in which Jolie stated that she could testify at the divorce trial in support of the allegations of domestic abuse against Pitt. Only a few months before their divorce filing, both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Child and Family Services were called to investigate allegations of physical and verbal abuse perpetrated by a drunk Pitt while on board their private plane. Since this incident, the couple has made headlines numerous times for complications involving their never-ending divorce (via Vanity Fair).
